2025 Vietnamese Cultural Cuisine Challenge Grandly Held as Vietnamese Chefs Across Taiwan Showcase Their Culinary Heritage

The “2025 Vietnamese Cultural Flavors & Local Cuisine Challenge,” hosted by Ming Ji Vietnamese Cultural Cuisine Restaurant and organized by Jingle International Co., Ltd., was held on November 10 in Xizhi District, New Taipei City. Vietnamese culinary talents from across Taiwan gathered to compete with their hometown dishes, filling the venue with aromas, lively crowds, and the unique charm of Vietnamese gastronomy. The event concluded successfully with an abundance of cultural vibrancy.

The competition attracted an impressive lineup of distinguished guests, including Pan Chao-Chung, Ambassador of the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei; Minister of Health and Welfare Shih Chung-Liang; Lin Lan-Yu, Senior Inspector of the National Health Insurance Administration; Legislator Mai Yu-Chen; New Taipei City Councilor Chou Ya-Ling; and Ho Yi-Ming, Adviser of New Taipei City Government. Their presence demonstrated strong support for multicultural exchange initiatives.

Leaders from various organizations also joined the event, including P. Mei Chien Shan-Ling, President of Global Rotary Club; Lin Fei-Hung, President of BNI Changjun Chapter; and representatives from the World Chinese Women’s Association of Commerce & Industry. Their participation showcased the commitment of civic groups and businesses to promoting cultural diversity. Guests unanimously praised the competition for advancing cultural understanding through cuisine and bringing visibility to the dedication and passion of new immigrants.

The judging panel consisted of seven culinary experts: Chang He-Han (Chairman of Jianshian Catering Group under Jih Sheng Dim Sum), Lo Chin-Han (Chairman of the Chinese Fine Cuisine Association), Ko Chun-Nien (celebrity chef and TV host), Huang Ching-Lung (Executive Director of the Taipei Culinary Association), Vu Trieu-Thang (Executive Chef of Ming Ji Vietnamese Cultural Cuisine Restaurant), Liu Han-Chung (Design Director of Dream Studio Interior Design and Founding President of Global Rotary Club, CP Dreamer), and Chen Fa-Ta (Culinary Director of Ming Ji Vietnamese Cultural Cuisine Restaurant). Judges evaluated entries based on flavor, creativity, and overall presentation, demonstrating their high level of professionalism and passion for gastronomy.

On the same day, the “Chinese–Vietnamese Culinary Culture Exchange Promotion Association” officially held its inaugural ceremony, marking a major milestone for the development of Vietnamese cuisine culture in Taiwan. The association aims to promote Vietnamese culinary culture, support exchange between chefs of both countries, empower new immigrants, and advance cultural education cooperation.

Wu Kun-Ling, Chairwoman of Ming Ji Vietnamese Cultural Cuisine Restaurant, stated, “This competition is not only a showcase of culinary skills but also a continuation of culture. Food transcends language and connects hearts. We hope Vietnamese cuisine will continue to shine in Taiwan and become a new bridge for cultural exchange.”

The event concluded in a warm atmosphere filled with applause and laughter, as the aroma of Vietnamese dishes lingered throughout the venue—symbolizing cultural integration and the lasting friendship between Taiwan and Vietnam. The organizers and the association will continue promoting culinary cultural exchanges, ensuring that the flavors of Vietnam remain a heartfelt symbol of Taiwan–Vietnam ties.
