Legislator May Yu-Chen attended the annual Taiwan Healthcare Expo at the Nangang Exhibition Center today, where she witnessed strong momentum in medical innovation and international collaboration. The event showcased how Taiwan’s medical technologies continue to shine on the global stage.
A highlight of the expo was the progress of New Southbound medical cooperation, an issue closely connected to Taiwan’s new immigrant communities. At the venue, Legislator Yu-Chen met with medical industry teams from Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines. These teams expressed strong interest in Taiwan’s smart healthcare, telemedicine solutions, and hospital management systems, and showed great enthusiasm for building deeper cooperation with Taiwan.
As a legislator representing new immigrant communities, Yu-Chen has long emphasized that Taiwan’s New Southbound Policy should not only export professional know-how, but also support new immigrant families living in Taiwan—while fostering two-way cooperation and mutual benefit.

She highlighted three key directions:
- Empowering new immigrants as bridges between Taiwan and New Southbound countries
- Promoting multilingual medical information and immigrant-friendly healthcare services
- Helping Taiwan’s medical technologies expand internationally and advance into Southbound markets
Seeing the achievements presented at the expo, Yu-Chen expressed confidence that Taiwan is moving in the right direction. She noted that the Healthcare Expo demonstrates both Taiwan’s strength in medical innovation and the international community’s growing recognition of Taiwan’s healthcare capabilities.
Yu-Chen looks forward to working with more partners from New Southbound countries to create a healthier, more inclusive, and more accessible medical environment for all.
